Annual Fundraiser Gala

Founded on September 14, 2016, by Sandra Nijjar, the East Boston Community Soup Kitchen began as a mission to alleviate hunger and provide vital services to marginalized individuals. What started as a small initiative quickly grew into a cornerstone of the community, evolving into a food pantry model during the COVID-19 pandemic. Today, we serve over 600 people weekly, distributing food, warm clothing, hygiene items, and offering essential services like housing aid and addiction recovery. Our mission extends beyond providing meals; we aim to close the gap in healthcare, education, and food access, fostering hope and recovery in our community.

WHO WE ARE

Volunteer With us

Everything EBCSK does is entirely donation based, so we rely heavily on volunteers to provide healthy food and access to other resources in the community.

Help during Tuesday serving days

We accept individuals and groups of volunteers to help with setup, food prep, serving meals, interacting with guests, cleanup, and other such tasks. To learn more about our available shifts, please fill out the below application and we’ll be in touch!

Help Our “Best” Friends

Pet Food Pantry

Providing for our pets can often be challenging. Therefore, we provide supplementary pet food assistance to alleviate some of the financial burden of owning a pet.

Our Pet Food Mascot, “Coco”, appreciates your generosity to help her other friends!
